when
residents are forced from their homes due to an emergency, and cannot find
shelter with family and friends outside the effected area. Evacuation
shelters are designed to house displaced individuals on a short-term basi=

If a large amount of houses are destroyed or damaged and need extensive
repairs, government officials, non-profit agencies such as the Red Cross =
and
Salvation Army, and the individuals themselves will work on finding a lon=
ger

which could require an evacuation of a neighborhood or large parts of the
town include hazardous materials incidents, long term power outages, large
fires, or damage from a storm. If an evacuation s=
